Lagiotis Georgios

Dr. Georgios Lagiotis conducted his undergraduate studies in Biology with the direction of “Environmental Biology and Management of Biological Resources” at the Department of Biology, University of Crete. His postgraduate studies were also carried out at the Department of Biology of the University of Crete on “Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology”. Subsequently, he advanced his scientific career with a DPhil degree from the Plant Sciences department of Oxford University, where he studied the “miRNA-regulation of axial patterning during Arabidopsis embryogenesis”. After completing his studies, he carried out postdoctoral research at the laboratory of “Comparative Plant Developmental Genetics” at the Max-Planck Research Institute for Plant Breeding Research. In 2018, he started collaborating with the research team of Dr. Panagiotis Madesis at INAB/ CERTH as a postdoctoral researcher in the genetic identification of species and food authentication. To date, he is a Postdoctoral researcher (Scientific Coordinator) at the University of Thessaly and an adjunct teaching staff at the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology and Oenology of the IHU (Drama).
