Karampatea Aikaterini

Aikaterini Karampatea is Chemist (Department of Chemistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), Oenologist (Diplome National d’Oenologue, France), holder of a Master’s Degree in Oenology (University of Dijon, France) and PhD in Wine, Vine and Beverage Sciences (University of West Attica).
She has long professional experience in vinification of various types of wine, having worked in famous wineries in France, Switzerland and Greece.
Since 2011 she is a Research Associate at the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology & Oenology of the International Hellenic University. She has numerous oral presentations at international scientific conferences as well as publications in international scientific journals.
Since 2012 she ownes Oenopolis an Oenological Laboratory in Drama, specializing in winemaking consultancy, chemical, microbiological and molecular analysis of wines, organization of winetasting and winemaking seminars, installation of ISO quality systems in food businesses.
She is an internationally renowned winetaster, participating as a judge in numerous international wine competitions that take place in various cities around the world, on an annual basis.
She has also distinguished herself, taking second place in the International Competition “Wine Women Awards”, 2011 Paris, France. She is a member of the Union of Greek Chemists, the Union of Greek Oenologists and the Union of French Oenologists.
